2023 Wayne Education Network STEAM Festival
The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is holding our 9th annual STEAM Festival on Sunday, October 15th at the Maxwell Center from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The FREE event is open to public and will help the community, students, and adults, to understand the potential in the areas of STEAM; to help them to build confidence and competence among their peers; and to foster a spirit of scientific inquiry.
The afternoon will be a FUN filled family day of all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math. We will have many opportunities for attendees to participate with hands on activities including:
- CO2 powered Dragster racing
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles Gaming Tournament
- Fortnite Duos No Build Gaming Tournament
- 4H Robotics demonstration
- Oversized Sling Shot Corn Hole Game provided by Team Seegars Fence
- Impact of the fall of a hard hat demonstration provided by Daniels & Daniels Construction
- Robotics, Car Design, Electronics, 3D Printing, and Coding demonstration by Wayne County Public Library
- Demonstration of a "Flame Tube" by team JSmith Civil
- Dance performances by In Motion Entertainment, Artistic Dance Academy, Goldsboro School of Ballet, and Legacy Dance
- University of Mount Olive mobile STEM Lab
- University of Mount Olive Animal Science department will have a display that includes donkeys
- University of Mount Olive Computer Science/Coding display
- City of Goldsboro Fire Truck
- Wayne County Sheriff SWAT Truck, Helicopter, and COPE Vehicle
- Mobile Planetarium
- 4H Robotics Team demonstrations
- Wayne Cooperative Extension Exhibits
- Wayne UNC Health Care interactive Heart & Brain displays
