Wayne County ladies are invited to grab a hammer and volunteer during Habitat for Humanity?s seventh annual National Women Build Week! During the second week of May, more than 300 Habitat affiliates nationwide will host Women Build projects in partnership with LOWE?S. National Women Build Week challenges women to come together and devote at least one day to building simple, decent, and affordable housing for those in need within local communities. More than 41,000 women volunteers from all 50 states have participated in previous years. Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne will host this year?s Women Build, May 8-10. The event is packed with lots of fun activities, where ladies join together to make a difference within Wayne County. Want to take part? It's an extremely rewarding time! Participants receive a day of hands-on construction, along with breakfast, lunch, a t-shirt, and the chance to win prizes. No experience is needed to participate?Habitat and LOWE?S will be on hand to help all skill levels! To join Women Build, ladies raise a minimum of $50 in pledges for one work day or $100 for all three. "Workday" is between 8am and 3:30pm. The pledged donation goes directly into the homes being built, 100%, and is tax deductible.
