Wayne County Veterans Memorial, located in Goldsboro, NC, is meant to be a patriotic place for veterans and families to visit, and also an educational site where people of all ages and origins can learn about the history of the community.
The intent is for the site to be actively used for veterans' activities, community events, concerts, and visits by Scouts, schools, and other civic groups, thus continuing its role as a living memorial. The emphasis on the design is formal enough to honor those who died to protect the liberties we enjoy, yet inviting enough to make visitors feel welcome.
