Wayne Preparatory Academy is a Free Public Charter School that serves scholars in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade and is located at 600 Tommy's Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina. WPA follows all federal and state laws regarding NC public schools WPA's academic model places scholars with peers at the same academic level in Reading and Math which fosters learning at each scholar's individual level and encourages growth and understanding of subjects. WPA follows all federal and state laws regarding testing and academic measures and also incorporates Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective people through the Leader in Me program. Those interested in attending WPA should complete an application on the school's website at www.wpanc.org. A lottery process is used to admit scholars, however scholars may be admitted throughout the school year without going through the lottery if a position opens. WPA also offers various sports teams. Scholars in 6th through 8th grades can compete in the conference. Teams include Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country, Softball, Tennis, Golf and Baseball.
